Ready For You

Mazda2 proves that sometimes the best things come in small packages. Bursting with energy, character, and vitality, its striking ‘KODO: Soul of Motion’ design gives it standout presence to keep turning heads.

Mazda 2 is as switched on as it is lively. That's why its inner intelligence shines through.

Shattering the class ceiling

Mazda 2 is the once-in-a-generation car that shatters all preconceived notions of its class, offering unprecedented quality, value and outright pride of ownership to drivers around the world.

Design Language

Its commanding, dynamic presence is born from Mazda’s KODO — Soul of Motion design language, while Mazda’s trademark driving pleasure is delivered in full measure along with outstanding environmental performance, thanks to groundbreaking SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY.

Compact and Stylish

All of the know-how and technology that go into Mazda’s human-centred design philosophy has been condensed into Mazda 2’s compact, stylish body

Confidence-building reassurance for the driver, and an enjoyable driving experience for all occupants. These are the fundamental aims of Mazda Proactive Safety. And with these twin goals, Mazda expanded the concept of safety, taking it beyond the conventional thinking on advanced safety technologies to also include the driving position, information layout, visibility, and driving dynamics.

Mazda Iactivsense Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)

BSM uses 24GHz quasi-milliwave radar sensors to detect vehicles in the blind spots behind and to the side: using a turn signal while BSM detects a vehicle triggers visual and audio warnings.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)

DSC with TCS electronically controls braking force applied to each wheel to help prevent under- or oversteer and maintain vehicle stability when cornering on slippery roads or during sudden steering inputs.

Front airbags are fitted as standard equipment to provide ample protection in a frontal collision. Optional side and curtain airbags mitigate the effects of side impacts within the relatively short occupant-to-door distances in a compact car, providing another layer of protection in depth against physical shock and injury in a collision.

Mazda Iactivsense Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

RCTA uses the same sensors to alert the driver when it detects vehicles approaching from either side when reversing.

Back-up monitor system

The back-up monitor system features a wide-angle camera to give you a clear and comprehensive view around the rear of Mazda2 when reversing, further enhancing safety. Obstacles in the blind spots are displayed in the instrument panel’s seven-inch centre display.

Body structure

The body provides excellent collision safety performance. Extensive use of ultra-high-tensile steel gives strength with low weight, while the framework absorbs and channels energy away from the cabin.

Human-centric engineering: the key to satisfaction

Your driving position affects every interaction you have with the car. It’s where driving pleasure begins, and it’s one more place where Mazda puts the focus on you to assure natural posture and ultimate ease of operation

Exhilarating, fun driving combined with unprecedented environmental and safety performance — it seems like an impossible dream. And it required tearing up the rule book of conventional ideas plus a series of quantum leaps in technology to achieve. But this is what inspired the development of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, and what continues to drive its evolution along a path charted by human-centric engineering.

Jinba-ittai is what makes every Mazda so special. The outcome of Mazda’s human centric design and development philosophy, Jinba-ittai lets the driver control the vehicle — whether turning, braking or just cruising — as simply and naturally as if it were an extension of his or her body

G-Vectoring Control Plus

Smooth transitions between G-forces when braking, turning and accelerating are an essential element of Jinba-ittai, and have been a major development focus at Mazda for many years. This unified feel to braking, steering and acceleration, along with consistent feedback, allows the driver to control the vehicle easily and precisely. And now G-Vectoring Control (GVC) — the debut technology of SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS — takes this dynamic, unified feel to an even higher level.

SkyActiv Drive

This six-speed automatic transmission combines the smooth operation of a conventional automatic with the fast shifting of a twin-clutch gearbox. Lockup is extended to nearly 90% for the solid feel of a manual transmission, and there’s also the choice of Sports and manual shift modes for sportier driving.
